I would have to say that in this future plants are highly valued. Things like flowers and decorative things have been uprooted and replaced with genetically modified plants that maximize oxygen output (idk how that works it’s the future go away). So similar to like… Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, where people value REAL animals because they are so rare, people value real decorative flowers, ones without any sort of genetic modifications, that have been grown in a pot or amazingly in a backyard (which nobody really has anymore).

Kim is too poor to afford that, those are either fake or stolen (but still not the real-deal).
